Tom Arnold says good evening

For over a decade now, I design, develop and consult in many aspects of the web, starting in the dark ages of the internet with Netscape 1.1 and dial-up-modems, and currently as the creative and strategical head of a web design agency in Frankfurt, Germany.

Together with a team of experts, I help define processes and projects for successful and future-friendly websites.

With years of formal training in design, a degree in communication design, and over 19 years of actually building, programming and implementing the elements that build websites, I am the bridge-keeper between the main pillars of the web as it is evolving today: Design and Development as an inseparable unit.

As of late, I like to call myself "web architect", since neither 'web designer' nor 'web developer' describes the interdisciplinary character of my profession.

To keep sane, I occasionally accept work as an illustrator and play guitar and bass in several bands. I like to cruise on my longboard in summer and ride the slopes on the snowboard in winter.

I wholeheartedly embrace the open nature of the web and enjoy writing and sharing my experiences and everyday's oddities in my german blog or on welearned.net. I also run a well-known tribute website for Fender's offset-waist models, the Jaguar and Jazzmaster guitars.

If you like to get in contact, you can find me on:

and yes, I have email, too.
